It has been a year now since I first went in to W Carter & Son to have an engagement ring made. From the first instance and through the entire process, Paulette was extremely helpful. The prospect of proposing is more than a bit intimidating (especially for those of us who know next to nothing about rings), but I felt supported and reassured that if nothing else, at least the ring was going to be perfect. It was a bespoke ring, made of gold from my fiancee's grandmother's ring and my grandmother's stones. Paulette took the time to explain the various styles and options, and gave me plenty of feedback on my ideas. Though I know I was quite finicky and uncertain at times, she was always patient and her guidance resulted in perfection. Thank you Paulette, we couldn't be happier with the ring, it is an enduring source of joy for us both. One year down, here's to many more to come! ~ W R

Went into this well looked-after shop with a necklace and bracelet to get an idea of how much they would be worth if I sold them. Craig gave me three different levels of pricing for each one and recommended where to sell them. His market knowledge was so thorough there seemed no point in going to another jewellers in Salisbury to get a comparison. He removed the question I'd had about what to do with them, gave me his opinion and extra ideas. Such a generous man. I live an hour from Salisbury but may still return to Carter and Sons as a way of showing my appreciation for his expertise. ~ S B

I used W Carter & Son for a bespoke commission engagement ring. I had them replicate a ring that was over 100 years old. All the staff were amazingly helpful. I spoke mainly with Paulette who understood every detail of my request and when changes needed to be made they were dealt with quickly and communicated clearly. The quality of the ring was amazing and the work that went into making the ring was honestly beyond what I ever expected. I cannot recommend W Carter & Sons enough. I will never use another jeweller. I am overjoyed with excellent service from W Carter and Son. After shopping around to get my grandfather's old signet ring re-engraved I was told by too many places that it couldn't be done. Luckily I came to Carters and was helped by Anna, who has exceeded all expectations. Not only did they get the engraving looking clear again, but the ring came back shining and looking brand new. Fantastic as always! I took a watch in to get it engraved for my husbands birthday but there was no room on the watch to actually engrave it. They suggested a plaque for the box instead, I collected yesterday and it looks brilliant. Very happy and excellent customer service from start to finish. 😀 ~ Holly S
